Where did September go? Not that I’m complaining. But wow! It flew by. October is my FAVORITE month of the year. I just love the weather and the changing of the leaves. The pumpkin patches and corn mazes, apple cider slushes and candy corn. And then there’s HALLOWEEN.
Hands down. The best holiday of the year. Christmas follows closely behind. But there’s just something about the pumpkins and costumes and the eerie feeling of Halloween night that wins me over every year. Truthfully, I’ve had my living room decorated for Halloween ever since Pumpkins hit the shelves at Hobby Lobby. Oops. No shame here though! I was ready. Decorating for the holidays is so much fun and adds a little added spunk to your home. I chose to decorate my main living room desk, and shelf. It added just enough character and the kids think it’s fun!
I love this old desk, even if it’s a missing a knob. I have to replace them, but it kinda matches the Halloween them. Old and broken, right? We found this desk for $10 on Craigslist, already painted. Score! It’s the perfect size and I can decorate it year round.
Most of these things are just pieces I’ve had packed away from previous years. I was so excited to dig the bin out and decorate.
This pumpkin came from Hobby Lobby last year. They have similar ones available this year!
The little ceramic witch boots came from Target’s dollar bin section, for only $3! Paired with some 30 cent books from the thrift store? Easy way to add something unique while on a budget.
How cool is it that these pumpkins came from our very own garden?!
I found this sign at Home Goods. It’s reversible so I can turn it around for the remainder of fall. The big metal pumpkin, and small wooden pumpkin, also home goods finds. I cannot get enough of the store!!! But that broom? Another thrift store bargain! 99 cents! It looked like a witches broom and I knew I had to have it!
The kids insisted on adding the orange lights. They’re a fun little addition. I like to include them in the decorating. It makes them feel special to be able to contribute to the home they live in.
Thus, why we have a giant cat head full of candy corn. 😂 but who’s complaining?? Not me!
Of course my cozy corner will always be my favorite spot in the house. It’s my go to place.
I created this Halloween inspired wreath a couple of years ago. It was SO easy to make. Maybe I’ll create a second one and do a tutorial for it. In the mean time, here’s a similar tutorial on how to make a tulle wreath here.
And lastly, a black cat. It’s not Halloween without a black cat! 😉
Thanks for taking a little tour around my Halloween living room! I hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I loved sharing it! How do you decorate for Halloween?
