Ohana Shaved Ice- the hunt is over!

Labor Day is always a nice little holiday. Most of the world gets a three day weekend. Usually there’s some sort of fireworks somewhere, and the day always involves burnt hot dogs and too much sweet tea. But mostly, it’s about getting Monday off. Let’s just be honest shall we? Today we spent a few hours at Grandma’s house, relaxing with family, and eating until we popped. We finished the day with snow-cones and water fountains.

But let’s rewind a second. Because I can’t write this post without addressing how significant these snow cones are. Ever since I can remember, Kyle has been going on and on about a very specific snow cone. He was very specific about the consistency of the shaved ice. For nearly 8 years, we have been to snow cone stand after snow cone stand, with no luck. I have never met another person who takes his snow cones so seriously. It’s intense you guys. But finally. Our search is OVER!! Ohana Shaved Ice in Miamisburg has FINALLY won over Kyle’s heart- so much that we’ve had it two days in a row.

This little hidden gem is a new place in downtown Miamisburg. I’m starting to fall more and more in love with that place! I tell ya. We end up down there at least once a week it seems! Kyle’s little heart is complete with the perfect snow cone. The right amount of syrup-to-ice ratio, the perfectly snow-like consistency. I have a feeling we will be making a Ohana stop at least once a week!

Kyle got Cotton Candy and Tigers Blood (which happens to be one of my favorites!) and I got what they call a “Lava Flow”- Pina-Colada & Strawberry. Yum! They even have specialty flavors, like the Barbie- which is Bubble Gum and sprinkles. Or the Banana Cream Pie. Ask for it Hawaiian Style and it comes with a scoop of ice cream, drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. I can’t wait to try it out!

It’s pretty much the bees knees. And since it’s 9 billion degrees outside, it’s the perfect way to cool off in the heat. Not to mention, it’s just a hop and a skip away from the interactive fountains. We ate our snow cones and then walked down to play in the water. It was the perfect ending to a great day.

If you’re in the area, definitely check out Ohana Shaved Ice! You won’t regret it. Happy Labor Day! ❤
